
The Cantil does have contrasted colors and is found in Central America, including areas near human habitation. Its presence near people does lead to accidents. While Cantils are generally shy and will try to flee, if cornered or provoked, they are highly defensive and considered dangerous. The Cantil’s venom is extremely potent, bites are medically serious and can be life-threatening.
