The Cape Cobra possesses the most potent venom among all cobras.
This species has entirely yellow specimens (called the gold phase) easily distinguishable from other types of cobras, although color variations can range from intense yellow to black, including striking black-dotted liveries on a light background.
It is the most southerly representative of the African cobras and is not usually large, although it can sometimes exceed 150 centimeters.
