The Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake is not only the largest of the rattlesnakes, but also the most dangerous and feared of all, even for those most accustomed to handling and capturing them.
It surprises by its strength, speed, and decisiveness in attack, as well as by the effectiveness of its venom and the copious inoculation it is capable of producing.
Despite everything, it is a reserved animal with crepuscular habits that avoids encounters with humans. The same is not true in reverse, as in Arcadia (Florida), these impressive snakes, properly seasoned and canned, constitute a prized delicacy.
Its painted vertebrae, its rattles, and other remains are, unfortunately, commercialized as good luck charms.
