
It belongs to the deer family (Cervidae) and differs from the red deer by its shovel-shaped antlers.
Its original habitat was the riparian forests of Asia Minor, although due to successive introductions and its ease of adaptation, it currently inhabits a wide variety of areas and climates.
Males form their own groups; females with their young gather in matriarchal herds, where the mother guides and protects offspring from two generations, with the dominant female as the leader.
The park has beautiful specimens, many of which have been born within it.
