The Golden Eagle is the most powerful of our eagles and one of the most widespread birds of prey globally.
In Spain, it is distributed solely across the Peninsula, where it occupies most of the mountainous or rugged and hilly terrain.
It is an essentially cliff-dwelling raptor, almost always building its nests in rocky cliffs, although occasionally it also does so in trees.
Animals very attached to a specific territory, which can be extensive, up to 200 square meters. The pair can have several nests that they use randomly each year.
It is an extremely silent bird, although young individuals emit a wide variety of sounds, especially when hungry and alone in the nest. They can be heard from over a kilometer away.
The plundering of nests along with the poisoning of adults has caused the disappearance of the Golden Eagle in most of the European continent.
