Large-sized deer, with males able to weigh up to 250 kg. Females in this species are smaller in size.
Males present antlers that they renew every year, developing during the summer and acquiring greater size, length, and number of points as the individual’s age advances.
They like to live in groups, but during the rutting season, they become very territorial and form a harem. It is the time of confrontations between males, known as ‘La berrea’.
