Curiosities

Current use focuses on decorative veneers and plywood panels, furniture, toys, tool handles, and turned pieces.
Formerly, it was used to make clogs or wooden shoes (zocas or madreñas), as alder wood is easy to work with, light, and insulating.

Bridges and watermill parts also use alders due to their ability to preserve themselves when submerged in water.
