Ginkgo Biloba

Deciduous tree of medium size, with a narrow and somewhat pyramidal crown formed by one or several trunks.

Curiosities

It is a sacred tree for the Buddhist tradition, which is why it is often planted in the gardens of temples and pagodas.

They can live for up to a thousand years and are considered one of the oldest known species, with origins dating back to the Jurassic period.

Leaves Deciduous, alternate, simple, light green, fan-shaped, 5 to 15 cm with dichotomous venation.
Flowers/Fruit The flowers on male trees are yellow and grouped in numerous cylindrical catkins. On female trees, the flowers are found in groups of 2 to 3, producing a soft, yellowish-brown seed.
Climate/Habitat It tolerates different climate varieties, does not tolerate frost, and prefers well-drained and cool soils. It requires daily sun exposure.
