Tree with a straight trunk, grayish and smooth bark, and a dense, oval crown. It is cultivated for ornamental use.
Curiosities
The wood is yellowish-white, light, soft, and not suitable for making charcoal as it burns very quickly, being useful only for making boxes.
The toasted seeds are used as a coffee substitute.
