Deciduous or sometimes evergreen tree or shrub, it is widely used in garden hedges and on embankments.
Curiosities
The fruits are toxic and have some not very relevant medicinal properties. It contains a coloring matter, ligulin. Formerly, the flexible branches were used in basketry.
