It is a gentle and social animal that lives in small herds led by an adult male who leads a group of females with their young and other males that have not yet reached sexual maturity.<\/p>\n

Their diet is exclusively herbivorous, feeding on tree branches. It is very rare to see a giraffe graze because the posture it adopts by spreading its front legs makes it an easy prey for predators (for this reason, they can go days without drinking water).
