Leaves deciduous, alternate, simple, serrated at the edge, ending in a point, 6 to 15 cm long. In autumn they change color, from green to ocher.
Flowers/Fruit They are white and born in groups of 6 to 8 units. The fruits are cherries, usually appearing in hanging pairs, held by a long stem; very rich in mineral salts.
Climate/Habitat They grow naturally in humid forests, ravines, gullies, or valleys, sometimes associated with watercourses. They prefer well-developed soils.
